In recent times, High Temperature Materials have received wider attention due to the growing need for the high performance materials in aerospace, automotive, structural and energy applications. The High Temperature Materials are defined as the materials which are capable to be used at medium to high temperatures, low to high stress conditions and from few hundreds of seconds to several thousands of hours. All material systems such as Metals/Alloys, Ceramics, Polymers and Composites belong to High Temperature Materials group, however, based on its potential for high temperature applications. In fact, the temperature, time and loading conditions for different applications of each material systems is distinctive. In particular, properties such as refractoriness, good creep and oxidation resistance and structural stability are primary requirements of a high temperature material. However, the applications of high temperature materials are greatly limited by materials processing difficulties, properties, characterization challenges and maintenance problems. There are very limited resources available in addressing all the high temperature materials and these issues in a single book. In view of this, there exists a need for an edited collection of original research in the area of High Temperature Materials with respect to its processing, microstructure, properties and applications.

There is growing demand for High Temperature Materials to improve its performance, reliability and service life for various applications. Very limited books or hand books are available on High Temperature Materials. In particular, covering all different classes of materials (including processing, properties, characterization aspects) in a single platform is scarce. This book will aim to provide relevant fundamentals as well as advancements in High Temperature Materials research. It will be written to cater the needs of professionals who want to improve their understanding in the field of Materials Science or Materials for High Temperature Applications.

Target Audience
The target audience of this book will be composed of Engineering and research professionals working in the field of High Temperature Materials in various disciplines, e.g. Metallurgy, Ceramics, Polymers, Composites, Surface Coatings, and Materials for Aerospace/Automobile/Transportation/Energy applications etc. Moreover, the book can be very useful in academic circles as a Text/Reference book for Graduate/Masters students.

Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before May 10, 2019, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by May 31, 2019 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by September 7, 2019, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project. 
Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Processing, Structure, and Applications of High-Temperature Materials. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
