Event: Panel NeMLA
This panel aims to re-think the way we design language courses that include students with special needs.
How can we redefine the concept of equal treatment within a course with an heterogenous student body? How do we tailor the course content, the assessments and the evaluation criteria to the needs of disabled students? How can we make the experience with disabled students pedagogically and emotionally meaningful to the entire class?
Given the broad spectrum of SLD (special learning disability), this panel opens the discussion to various kind of “different abilities,” and welcomes papers that discuss case studies and results based on the application of specific methodologies for the teaching of a second language; pedagogical strategies, methodological perspectives and emotional approaches that enable a transformative learning experience not only for specific students, but also for the entire class.
Preferred language: English
