Power in the Voice: TJC Annual English Conference (Updated)
Tyler, Texas
Organization: Tyler Junior College
Update: Power in the Voice--originally scheduled for October 10, 2020--has been postponed until Spring 2021. When it is safe to do so, we will gather to discuss the original topics described below, as well as the trials and successes we have experienced with the sudden move to online instruction made necessary by the Covid-19 pandemic.
We invite papers that explore: Relationships between Voice and Identity; Voices of Transgression and Transformation; Voices of Conformity; Representing Faculty Voices; Creating Harmony with Conflicting Voices; Amplifying Voices with Technology; Visual Voices; and Ignoring the Noise, Hearing the Voices.
The conference encourages papers from composition, literature, humanities, and supporting fields.
Persons interested in presenting a paper (30 minutes), or facilitating a panel or roundtable discussion (45 minutes) should submit an abstract, not to exceed 250 words, and one page bio for each speaker.
