The Annals of Legal History announces an opportunity for publication in a special thematic issue on the history and geography of medieval law. A special section of the journal will be devoted to late Roman law and the Byzantine translation of imperial ideology.

The best English-language articles will reward with a cash prize from the editorial board of our journal.

The Annals of Legal History (ALH) was founded in 2016 and was the first Ukrainian-language periodical in the field. The journal was launched as an International Center for Civil Political Science at Taras Schevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine) publication at the beginning of 2017 with Editor-in-Chief, Viktor Melnyk (Taras Schevchenko National University of Kyiv).

ALH aims to publish outstanding scholarship on all facets and periods of legal history. While retaining its focus on Central-East Europe legal history, it accommodates the enormous broadening of the intellectual horizon of the discipline over the past decade. It is particularly interested in contributions of a comparative, international or transnational nature. As in another legal history journals, book reviews are a regular feature.

ALH is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal, made available in printed and electronic form. 

“The Annals of Legal History” was created to reform the Ukrainian historical and legal science, and to popularize the world legal history.

There is no fee for publishing in the scientific journal The Annals of Legal History.
