Papers may engage with (but are not limited to) the special conference theme "City of God, City of Destruction.” Papers are welcomed both in English and Italian.
Italian Cinema / Film and Media Studies
Presiding Officer: Federico Pacchioni (Chapman University)
The Italian Cinema session is open to all papers that explore some aspect of Italian film, but we are particularly interested in papers attuned to some facet of the conference theme, "City of God, City of Destruction." Papers are welcomed both in English and Italian.
New Italians Italian / Multiethnic and Indigenous
Presiding Officer: Sienna Hopkins (California State University – Long Beach)
This session invites proposals that explore aspects of New Italian literature, culture, media, music, or film, with an emphasis on immigration, migration, national or linguistic identities, or other discourses on Italian-ness in a globalized context. We are particularly interested in papers that relate to the conference theme, “City of God, City of Destruction,” by which the topics of urbanity and spirituality, and their multitudinous subgenres, can be explored through a global lens. https://pamla.ballastacademic.com/Home/S/18181
