There is a dearth of knowledge among Western readers and audience about a cataclysmic event which divided India into two states, the other being Pakistan in 1947. As India remembers this traumatic holocaust in its 75th year, it is time to enlighten the world about the horrific killings, rapes and abductions that took place as a result of this hasty decision of the British government. The fiction and cinema that was written in the decades that followed, has had a huge impact on the global Indian community. The session will feature the best presentations related to Partition fiction and films.
