We are delighted to inform you that Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai India in collaboration with Metharath University, Pathum Thani, Thailand are organizing a "Global Conference on Exploring the Intersection of Law, Media and Psychology" on 11th, 12th and 13th of March, 2024 in Hybrid Mode.


ABOUT SATHYABAMA:
Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology was established under Sec.3 of UGC Act, 1956 and has been Accredited with ‘A’ Grade by the National Accreditation and Assessment council. Sathyabama has a good presence in rankings and ratings at National and International level. The Institution has been ranked in 43rd position by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Government of India among the Universities in India for the year 2022 and ranked one among the top 50 Universities for seven consecutive years. Sathyabama is ranked among the Top 5 Institutions in the Country for Innovation by ATAL ranking of Institution for Innovation Achievements, Govt. of India. ABOUT METHARATH UNIVERSITY:
METHARATH UNIVERSITY (MRU), formerly known as Shinawatra University (SIU), is a private university registered under the Private Higher Education. It was established in 1999 at 99 Moo 10, Bangtoey, Samkhok, Pathumthani 12160 Thailand. MRU was established in response to the need to educate young people to keep pace with global trends and rapid changes in work culture, thinking, and ways of doing things. Media in its various forms is omnipresent in modern life. It can shape our attitudes, perceptions, and behaviors in a variety of ways.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE:
The Global Conference on Law, Media, and Psychology aims to bring together scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world to explore the multifaceted relationship between law, media, & psychology. This conference will provide a platform for interdisciplinary discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration to deepen our understanding of how these fields intersect and impact society. By fostering meaningful dialogue, the conference seeks to generate new insights and contribute to the advancement of research, policies, and practices in the respective domains

1. Media Ethics & Legal Implications: Analyzing the ethical dimensions of media practices and their legal implications in the context of psychology.
2. Psychology of Media Influence: Examining the psychological mechanisms underlying media influence on public opinion, attitudes, and behaviors.
3. Forensic Psychology & Media: Investigating the role of media in shaping perceptions of crime, criminal justice, and the use of forensic psychology in legal proceedings.
4. Media Law & Policy: Exploring the legal frameworks, regulations, and policies governing media practices and their psychological impact.
5. Medio Representations & Stereotypes: Understanding the psychological effects of media representations, stereotypes, and biases on individuals and marginalized groups.
6. Digital Media & Online Behavior: Analyzing the psychological and legal dimensions of online behavior, cyberbullying, digital identities, and privacy concerns
7. Media Literacy & Psychological Resilience: Exploring the promotion of media literacy and psychological resilience to mitigate negative psychological consequences of media exposure.
8. Psychology of Legal Decision Making: Investigating the psychological factors influencing legal decision-making processes, including jury behavior, witness testimony, and expert opinions.
9. Media & Mental Health: Examining the portrayal of mental health in the media, its impact on public perceptions, and the ethical and legal implications
10. Media Interventions for Social Change: Discussing the potential of media campaigns, interventions, and advocacy to drive social change, address legal issues, and promote psychological well-being
11. Pluralism of Legal Institutions and Mass Media: Pluralism signifies choices for media creation and consumption. It needs sensitivity to various economic ownership builds as well as we as a new delivery design that enables multichannel and multiplatform diffusion
12. Law and Media on Collapsing Boundaries: It refers to a system of rules and regulations that are established and enforced by a governing authority in order to regulate human behavior and maintain social order.

UG & PG Students/ Research Scholars: Indian- INR 1000, Foreign National- USD 15
