Event Date: 2024-11-12 to 2024-11-14 Abstract Due: 2024-10-06

This congress aims to be an international scientific forum to analyze and discuss the importance of preserving and enhancing traditional techniques alongside the application of new technologies in creative processes and textile heritage conservation.

We aim to bring together a group of professionals specializing in the sector who maintain traditional production techniques, as well as those who use new technologies (such as digitization, 3D designs and 3D recreation) in the study and production of fashion. Additionally, we seek the participation of historians and researchers who can provide a theoretical framework for this new reality, along with the dissemination of museum projects that share these objectives.

We have speakers in plenary sessions such as Marlène Van de Casteele and Sylvie Marot from ESMOD Paris; Sylvia Bossenz, Timo Schnitt and Carsten Behm from Hochschule Hannover University of Applied Sciences & Arts; Angelica Vandi from Politecnico di Milano; Gianni Montagna from Universidade de Lisboa; and Stefanie Malmgren de Oliveira from University of Borås.

The congress will be structured into two sessions, with the following themes:
I. Digitization for Heritage Conservation
II. Techniques: Tradition, Renewal, and Innovation

Those interested in participating can submit their proposals (in Spanish or English) to the following email address: congreso.csdmm@upm.es.

Proposals may be submitted in the following format:
The participant must submit a proposal of up to 15 lines, indicating the title, author, session, and content to be analyzed. The advisory scientific committee will determine the acceptance or rejection of the proposal. If accepted, the participant will have 15 minutes to publicly present their research.

The texts of the communications will be subjected to blind peer review, with the aim of publishing a collective work that meets indexing requirements. The publisher is yet to be determined.

The deadline for submitting proposals is the 6th of October.
Acceptance or rejection of the proposal will be communicated by the 14th of October.

Once the conference is over, a scientific publication will be edited, including all the presented papers. Information related to this publication will be sent once the research papers have been received.
