Book title: American Education at the Crossroads:  Confluences, Constructions and

Convergences in the Era of Trump

Purpose: With the recent change of government in America, and the apparent shift to a much more conservative Christian ideology, this text seeks to explore the issues embedded in the current change of educational direction at all levels of the American education spectrum. Multidisciplinary in nature, authors can explore a variety of perspectives such the rise of the Christian right, the surrounding socio-cultural aspects that accompany or have influenced this change, the psychology of religion, the notion of authentic learning, philosophical analysis, historical precedents and possible outcomes of this trend.

As the title suggests, this book is based on the notion that this is a critical time in American history and the overall praxis of education in the United States. Hence, while the aim is to develop a holistic or mosaic perspective with integrative threads, it is envisaged that this book will be constructed around the concepts of:

- Confluences: This framing element refers to the ways and means in which Christian ideologies are being pushed into the educational curriculum of states and other religions marginalized.

- Constructions: This aspect could include discussion and critique of the deliberate sociopolitical pushback against policies of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion; backlash against the concept of “wokeness”; the banning of specifically designated books and the textual and visual elements in schools and social surrounds that highlight the concepts perceived to be "forced” on children like posters saying “Black lives matter” and “We are stronger together “ showing multiracial students.

- Convergences: This area of focus might more specifically address the ways conservative political ideologies are being fused to religious beliefs to influence educational curricular development.

Please note, the suggested themes and frameworks are not intended to be textual limitations, and authors are free to submit proposals addressing alternative aspects and integrated threads related to the current shift in educational ideology of the government toward education in the United States. As this book is also grounded in the precepts of the 'outside-inside paradigm' authors from outside of the continental United States and who are based in other disciplines are encouraged to submit a proposal.

Submission should include:

Concise proposal of 250-300 words

Author bio including affiliation, publications, and contact informati
