Introduction
This volume will explore the theoretical and emerging practical underpinnings of evolutions in technology and artificial intelligence (AI) with particular focus on implications for literacy, creativity, and the humanities. Theoretical chapters, meta analysis reviews of extant literature, and practical application chapters that include theoretical lenses are welcome. Chapters can include all fields but consistently focus on literacy and multimodality.
Objective
The objective of this book is to continue advancing conversation concerning multimodal thinking and practice as AI tools and other technologies emerge and evolve. Authors can tackle ethics, creativity, descriptions of practices, implications for instruction, implications for equity, legal and creative ramifications for schools, and more.
Target Audience
This book is intended for researchers and educators, particularly in educational spaces (K-12 and higher education). Literacy is a focus for this project.

Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before October 12, 2025, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by October 26, 2025 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters of a minimum of 10,000 words (word count includes references and related readings) are expected to be submitted by January 25, 2026, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.
Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Multimodal Literacy Studies in the Age of AI. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-anonymized peer review editorial process.
