The Journal of Studies in Language, Culture, and Society (JSLCS) welcomes high-quality articles for a special issue on empowering global citizenship and its role in bridging cultural gaps and developing skills that facilitate dialogue across borders.

This issue aims at bringing to light approaches to cultivating global knowledge, attitudes, and skills by encouraging individuals to engage with diverse communities. Thus, this issue invites research, case studies, and best practices on community engagement that transcends geographical boundaries and pressing issues bringing local and global communities together.


TRACKS:
We welcome submissions related – but not limited to – the following tracks:

Media literacy and global citizenship
Critical community engagement
Innovative solutions for global challenges

GUIDELINES:
The Journal of Studies in Language, Culture, and Society (JSLCS) as a venue for your scholarly contributions. As an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the University of Bejaia, JSLCS upholds rigorous international standards to ensure academic quality, visibility, and eventual alignment with SCOPUS and Web of Science indexing.

To facilitate this, please adhere to the following requirements:


1. MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE & LENGTH
Submitted manuscripts should include original research and provide empirically or theoretically robust insights into the selected topic. Submissions should include:

A clear methodology section, detailing approaches, data collection tools and procedures, results, discussions and actionable recommendations and conclusions.
Abstract: 250–300 words, clearly outlining the research purpose, methodology, results, and significance.
Keywords: 4–6 keywords reflecting the core themes of the paper.

LENGTH:
Full manuscripts should be between 5,000 and 9,000 words (including references, tables, and appendices).

LANGUAGE:
Submissions must be in English and written in a clear, academic style. No other language needs to be added while submitting (e.g., no abstract translation is needed).


2. REFERENCES & CITATIONS
Minimum references: At least 15 references are required; however, a reference list exceeding 25 is strongly recommended.
Source quality: References must prioritize recent works (last 3–5 years), particularly from Scopus and WoS-indexed journals and reputable publishers, except for pioneer papers, primary sources, and historical/archive sources, which must be cited research.
Journal metrics: Where relevant, please include citations from JSLCS to support the journal’s impact and visibility.
Citation style: All references and in-text citations must strictly follow APA 7th edition.

3. SCOPE & THEMATIC AREAS
