Hola a todes,

The Spanish MA students of ISU are organizing their third annual graduate student conference. The conference, Arconexiones, will be held virtually on Saturday, February 7th, 2026 via Zoom. The theme of the conference this year is: "Tejiendo resiliencias: literatura y cultura en tiempos de crisis, or, "Weaving Resilience: Literature and Culture in Times of Crisis".

We are excited to invite any graduate students from ISU in fields related to cultural and literary studies (and related to the Hispanic world, Latin America, and Spain), as well as advanced undergraduates, to send proposals for consideration to participate in our conference.

We also invite presentations from graduate students at other institutions beyond ISU.

NEW EXTENDED DEADLINE! Proposals will be due by THURSDAY, JANUARY 8th, 2026. We welcome presentations given in both English and Spanish. Some special events that will be part of this one-day virtual conference include a lunchtime session of informal chats on topics related to academic development for graduate students, as well as Keynote talks by two experts -- Dr. Heidi Backes (from Missouri State University, expert in Spanish peninsular gothic fiction), and Dr. Jason A. Kemp (from the University of Wisconsin-Madison-- WIDA assessment researcher and expert in second language acquisition and language pedagogy).

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dr. Marin Laufenberg, faculty advisor (marinlaufenberg@isu.edu).
