The Brazilian Association of Journalism Researchers (SBPJor) will organize, between November 4 and 6, the 24th National Meeting of Journalism Researchers at the Institute of Arts and Social Communication of the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro.

Under the theme "Journalism, Democracy, and Practice," the meeting aims to bring together researchers and students in Communication to debate the impacts of disinformation on journalism research. Papers will be presented in person, and submissions will be accepted solely in Portuguese, following the rules available below:

We invite researchers, academics, and professionals to submit papers by August 16, via the link: https://proceedings. science/cfp/sbpjor-2026?lang= pt-br

The expected date for the announcement of selected papers is September 8, with the registration payment deadline until September 18, 2026.

JPJor
The event will also host the 16th Meeting of Young Journalism Researchers (JPJor) in a hybrid format. Students and graduates in journalism from 2025 and 2026 can submit papers, with up to 5 people in collective authorship and mandatory co-authorship of the advisor.

Papers must be written exclusively in Portuguese and contain between 20,000 and 40,000 characters (with spaces), including bibliographic references and footnotes. A title, an abstract of up to 10 lines, and five keywords are mandatory. The text must be written in Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing. Long direct quotations (more than three lines) must have a 4 cm indent on the left margin, be written in size 10 font, and have single line spacing.
