Terms of Service — CFPList Pro

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating a CFPList Pro account, starting a free trial, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not register for or use CFPList Pro.

2. The Pro Subscription

CFPList Pro is a paid add-on to the free CFPList.com service. A current subscription gives you:

• Research Match & Smart Alerts: an AI-assisted match between a research description you provide and newly approved calls for papers, with optional email notifications.
• Saved Searches: stored search criteria with optional email digests when new listings match.
• Bookmarks & Collections: the ability to save and organize CFPs, with optional deadline reminder emails.
• Calendar Sync: Google Calendar links and .ics downloads for bookmarked deadlines.
• Advanced Filters: additional search filters (country, publisher, indexing status, and similar) not available on the free site.

We may add, change, or retire individual Pro features over time. We'll make reasonable efforts to notify subscribers of material reductions in functionality.

3. Eligibility & Accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old to create a Pro account.
• You must provide a valid email address and keep your account information accurate.
• You're responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your password confidential.
• One Pro subscription is intended for one individual's use; sharing a paid account's login credentials to circumvent the per-seat nature of the subscription is not permitted.

4. Free Trial

New Pro accounts start with a 7-day free trial that begins when you verify your email address. No payment method is required and you will not be charged during the trial. When the trial ends, Pro access pauses until you subscribe; you are never charged unless you choose to subscribe. If you subscribe during the trial, any remaining free days carry over and billing begins when they end. Your data — bookmarks, saved searches, and research profile — is retained if your access lapses. Trials are limited to one per person; we may decline or end a trial we believe is being reused or abused.

5. Billing & Renewal

• CFPList Pro is billed monthly at the price shown at checkout, currently $5/month.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our servers.
• Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for each renewal.
• If a renewal payment fails, we may retry the charge and place your account in a short grace period before Pro access is paused, consistent with the status shown on your Subscription page.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from the Subscription page ("Manage Billing"). Cancelling stops future renewal charges. You keep Pro access through the end of the billing period you already paid for; access reverts to the free tier afterward. There is no minimum term or cancellation fee.

7. Refunds

Because the free trial gives you a full opportunity to evaluate Pro before being charged, payments are generally non-refundable, including for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error — for example, a duplicate charge or a renewal after you cancelled — contact us at dariyam@gmail.com and we'll review it.

8. Price Changes

We may change the subscription price going forward. If we do, we'll notify active subscribers by email in advance of the change taking effect on their next renewal. Continuing your subscription after that date means you accept the new price; cancelling before then avoids it entirely.

9. Research Match, Smart Alerts & AI-Generated Matching

Research Match and Smart Alerts use automated, AI-based scoring to estimate how closely a call for papers relates to the research description you provide. This scoring is a discovery aid, not a guarantee:

• Matches may be incomplete, delayed, or occasionally irrelevant, and relevant CFPs may not surface at all.
• We do not guarantee any particular match accuracy, frequency, or number of alerts.
• You remain responsible for verifying a call's suitability, deadlines, and requirements directly with the listing before submitting or relying on it.

10. CFP Listings Are Third-Party Content

Calls for papers, conferences, and related listings on CFPList are submitted by third parties or gathered from public sources. We do our best to review listings before they're published, but we do not guarantee their accuracy, legitimacy, or that any given event will occur as described. Pro features (Saved Searches, Bookmarks, Smart Alerts, Calendar Sync) organize and surface this third-party content — they don't change who is responsible for it. Always verify deadlines and submission details on the organizer's own materials.

11. Acceptable Use

While using CFPList Pro, you agree not to:

• Access the service using automated scraping, bulk-export tools, or bots outside of the features we provide;
• Attempt to circumvent the per-account trial or subscription limits described above;
• Use Smart Alerts or Saved Search notifications to relay spam or unrelated content to third parties;
• Interfere with the security, integrity, or normal operation of the Pro features or the broader site.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

12. Intellectual Property

CFPList retains ownership of the CFPList Pro software, design, and underlying database compilation. The research description, saved search criteria, and bookmark notes you enter remain yours; you grant us a license to process them solely to operate the Pro features (for example, to generate embeddings for matching or to send you the alerts you've requested).

13. Termination

You may cancel your subscription and/or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate a Pro account for violation of these Terms, non-payment, fraud, or abuse. On termination, your right to use Pro features ends; some data may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy for legal, security, or accounting purposes.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

CFPList Pro is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any deadline reminder, alert, or match email will be delivered or delivered on time.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CFPList will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including a missed submission deadline, arising from your use of — or inability to use — CFPList Pro. Our total liability for any claim relating to Pro is limited to the amount you paid us for the subscription in the three months before the claim arose.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold CFPList harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the service.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the revised Terms here with an updated "Last Updated" date, and for material changes, we'll notify active Pro subscribers by email. Continued use of CFPList Pro after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by generally applicable consumer protection and contract law principles, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the law of your country of residence.
